I have been reading about this for years!!!! I am so glad this documentary was produced!!! Now more people will be aware of what is going on..Thank you a million times over again....The Dolphins are our brothers and sisters....God rest their souls...

Japanese consumption of whale and dolphin meat and Japan's general spurning of International Whaling Commission resolutions are extremely complex issues that should be examined soberly. Unfortunately, the activists in The Cove—like many of the louder, more self-righteous environmentalists—skip the part where they take time to consider the multifaceted, layered issue and rush blindly in convinced the world is comprised of evil, greedy men for them to battle. Even more unfortunately, this attitude turns off many naturally skeptical people (the support of which the environmental movement sorely needs) from real and important causes, such as the depletion of the world's fisheries and the bioaccumulation of mercury.

I'm positive this movie was made to educate the massses on a world problem of abuse to dolphins/cetaceans. In my humble opinion, if anything more or less is read into this movie then you are mistaken. I'm glad this movie was made! I didn't know anything about it. Now, I will not go to a dolphin experience nor visit Sea World or any other place that have dolphins captive. It is wrong. We should be visiting them in their habitat not vice-versa. God speed to help the dolphins around the world and other whales or cetaceans being abused. Lord, please send alternative food/income sources to those involved in this industry. Your word says that, "He will always give us a way out of temptation"! God Bless those who are putting their lives on the line to save these remarkable creatures!

I recently wrote Sea World a letter (well I actually e-mailed them) and told them that after watching "The Cove" I have decided that I will no longer visit their theme park and that as soon as I am able I will be donating the cost of my ticket and my two children's tickets to your cause! I wasn't expecting a response...but I got one! They basically said that they haven't collected a whale or dolphin from the wild in decades and are actively opposed to the Japanese drive fishery. They go on to say that more than 80% of the marine mammals in their care were born in their parks. They just don't get it...they are still keeping these beautiful and intelligent species in a pool! Rehab is one thing...accepting money for our amusement is another!! Sometimes it takes seeing the harsh images that we don't want to see to make us really open our eyes to see the truth!!! You did that for me..thank you and good luck!

Some issues are very simple. Feeding poison laden meat to schoolchildren for your own enrichment is evil. In fact I can't think of a better example.

Re: Christopher Carr post ... all the "complexity" of the issue just falls away when you see intelligent animals being rounded up and senselessly bludgeoned to death.

I haven't even seen the movie or documentary yet, only the trailer...but i will. I am just so glad that there are groups of people who stand for what they believe in and actually do something about it. It makes me happy and i know that when i see positive stories like yours that our God almighty hears our prayers.
He made everything and there will be a time where your day will come and their day has arrived....great job to The Cove team.
